ANJALISHARMA is a label that firmly believes in the art of making clothes and initiates exclusive bespoke handmade luxury Bridal and Pret for women. The products include Bridal trousseau and Indian celebration ethnic wear. This label curates out of some of the top Indian multi-designer stores. The label is proud to work with, and support artisans in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh who specialize in hand embroidery of Zardozi.
We are extremely proud to be a member of the International Trade Centre Geneva, a sister concern of The United Nations, NYC. As a member, we work toward Women Empowering Women. We are also extremely proud to being mentored in business development and strategy building by Cheri Blair Foundation, UK. Our focus is to grow and expand organically and be able to give back socially in a more generous way.
J A R I from the studio is our new offering of a handmade Global luxury line of transition wear for women. Completely handmade, this design line uses only Natural Fabrics. For AW 2018-19, the fabrics have been distressed, embroidered and textured by hand to make minimal details. This beautiful handmade design line includes scarves, stoles and sheer over jackets with minimal design sensibilities. The label was introduced at the SHETRADES trade fair, Liverpool, June 2018.
Our proudest moment has been a runway show at the UN Headquarters, NYC, 2014, during a Women Empowerment Conference during the General Assembly 2014.
With a demonstrated history of over three decades of extensive work in the Indian garment export sector, a decade of senior Faculty ship at National Institute of Fashion Technology, plus a decade and a half of entrepreneurship, the label under the guidance of Anjali has carved a niche for itself in the exclusive and sustainable handmade luxury market. The name stands strong for exclusivity, quality of workmanship and commitment to deliver.
ANJALISHARMA is associated with the Indian Government on craft revival and cluster development. Our last project in 2018 was in Wakoora village, Ganderbal district, in the interiors of Kashmir, where Anjali personally led a team of designers from NIFT to revive the craft of Tilla work with local artisans.
We are part of FDCI and CWE, India.
On the international front we are members with Women Empowering Women groups – WE CONNECT INTERNATIONAL and SHETRADES, Geneva.
At our studio ANJALISHARMA in Bangalore, we run our bespoke vertical and work with appointments. Our expertise lies in technical know how and that is our strength.
Alumni NIFT, batch of 1989-91. After 7 yrs in the Export sector as Design and Pre-Production Head and handling R&D for major global brands - Marks & Spencer, Victoria’s Secret, Adolfo, Zara, GAP, Banana Republic, NEXT PLC, Debenhams, Principles, Dana Buchman, Anjali taught Major Design subjects- Draping and History of Indian Costumes at NIFT Kolkata and Bangalore for 12 years. In 2005 she founded ANJALISHARMA.
Rushaly is from Ranchi and proud to be a NIFT alumni. An integral part of our design team, she has always been fascinated with history of Indian culture and textiles and loves to bring her interest onto the work table. Her forte lies in experimenting with surface embellishments and working with challenging silhouettes at the studio.
Preeti is the newest entrant in our design team, and is actively involved with our design process and production. She is extremely careful with accounts and the studio banks on her literally!
Babu Master as he is known, has an experience of over three decades- a mixed palette of export and domestic production and sampling of womenswear. He was our first team member when we started out in 2005 and is an integral part of our core production decision making.
Out of his 15 years of work life, he has been with the company for about 10 years. Hard working and dedicated, he joined us as a tailor and has very proudly graduated to a cutter now.
Mansoor is great with deciphering new concepts and transferring them on a Fabric as surface. He has been with the company for more than 8 years.
An integral part of our company Nusrath is one of the few who knows exact whereabouts of almost every physical thing in the workshop. She is a loyal worker and her main strength is dedication. She has given our company over a decade of her time and efforts which we value.
Damini is our very special team member with Trisomy 21. She works at our studio twice a week, and gives all of us inspiration to live life easy. Here she is making beautiful hand blocked wrapping paper to deliver our products in.
